What  is  a Legacy Podcast?

Ever wanted to hear in-depth about a family member’s

(or friend’s) most meaningful life experiences, favorite stories,

and the lessons they’ve learned?

 

A Legacy Podcast is a wonderful option to experience a much more extensive (and more affordable) portrait of a person in your life than a Legacy Film.

 

A Legacy Podcast is an audio-only portrait where the subject is interviewed in person by Blue Ridge Stories (there is also the possibility to do interview remotely). The recordings are then edited together in a cinematic and meaningful way, ready to be shared and listened to like any other podcast episode you may enjoy. The interviews themselves run 60 minutes long and the finished audio file is 45 - 55 minutes long.

 

The podcast can be just the edited interview or it can have music playing underneath throughout the episode, giving the listener even more of an emotional and cinematic experience. There can be different audio versions for different people in case the interviewee wants to leave specific messages for specific people. The tone can be serious, funny, heartfelt, or a combination of them all.

 

The options are truly unlimited!

Whether it’s someone already on hospice or someone who feels they have limited time left to share what they want to share, Blue Ridge Stories compassionately works with the interviewee to create unique audio messages for various recipients to receive after they have passed. This enables the person to give a beautiful and profound gift that will continue on and be cherished for a lifetime.

THE INTIAL TALK

We talk on the phone and find out exactly what you want, answer any questions,  go over the timeline + the process, and finalize the price.

​

If you are within 25 miles of Charlottesville, VA - the price includes us coming to record in person. Outside of that is an additional charge for travel. 

​

There is a possibility of recording the interview remotely if traveling isn't possible, or if you already have good sounding audio and a way to record. Otherwise we can suggest a very affordable microphone you can order from Amazon.com and record on your phone.​​

THE INTERVIEW

Prior to the actual day of recording, we go over exactly what you want to talk about during the podcast, the types of questions you want to answer, the stories you want to share, and any messages you want to leave for others.

​

If local to Charlottesville, VA area, we come to you with professional audio equipment and record between a 60 - 90

minute interview.

​

If recording remotely, we make sure you have a quality microphone to record directly into your phone (or other device) and we conduct the interview  online. After the interview you will then upload the file from your phone to our server for us to begin editing.

THE EDIT

We edit everything together and email you a link to listen to.  You give us any notes and we implement those notes and prepare the final episode(s).

THE FINAL PODCAST

We send you the link to download the final podcast episode(s) which you can then share with whomever.
